trunk sounds alert when closing … 2015 honda civic ex (sedan) was placing boxed in trunk, and decided to fold the rear seat-backs forward for additional trunk room. there are two latches accessible from trunk-lid which i pulled. deciding i did not need the extra room, i firmly pushed the rear seats back to normal position (upright). now, when i try closing the trunk, there is an audible alert (seems to be three short beeps), and a relay pops open the trunk again. after this happens, i quickly try looking at driver's instrumentation up front, but there is no dummy-light. all the seat-belts are locked and the seat-backs are firmly in place. what am i missing? the trunk remains unlatched at this time … and the trunk courtesy-light is slowly draining the battery. oh yea … http://m.owners.honda.com/manual/201...c_sedan/cvt_se http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...ATR0154DOM.pdf (469 pages) pg153 - folding down the rear seats. |
Re: trunk sounds alert when closing … (quick answer pls) okay … no longer urgent … but am curious just the same. seems a couple of the storage boxes i was loading into the trunk are the culprit. maybe a sensor inside the trunk doesn't like the huge plastic storage bins. i have listed below the storage box … go figure. http://www.officedepot.com/a/product...l-File-Box-11/ |
Re: trunk sounds alert when closing … You left a keyless fob in the trunk. Maybe recheck those boxes for your missing second fob. |
