Alarm won't shut off I have a 2013 civic ex and hit the panic button on the key fob on accident. I've tried numerous things - lock unlock, start ignition, keyhole on door, panic button while started, both options mentioned in the manual and nothing is working to shut off the alarm. The car will start up but the alarm continues to go off. Both of the key fobs that I have work for locking/unlocking but still the alarm goes off... We tried disconnecting the battery and still nothing. We ended up having to take out the horn fuse to be able to drive home but now don't know what to do. Any ideas on what to try? |
Re: Alarm won't shut off Did the panic button stick down ?? All still factory electrical setup ?? No add ons. |
Re: Alarm won't shut off I'm not sure.... there is a red light in the upper left side of the dash that was flashing at first but has since stopped, and there is a blue flashing light under the steering wheel down below that is still going |
Re: Alarm won't shut off The orange/red in cluster is factory......the blue I would think is not. Get any extra manuals, or info on add on items at purchase ?? Be aware you MAY not have brake lights with horn fuse removed. |
Re: Alarm won't shut off and there is a blue flashing light under the steering wheel down below that is still going From the owners manual: Canceling panic mode Press any button on the remote transmitter, or turn the ignition switch to ON To cancel the security system alarm The security system is canceled when the vehicle is unlocked using the key or remote transmitter, or the ignition switch is turned to ON. The security system indicator goes off at the same time. Since it won't shut off, I'd guess it's broken and needs to go to a dealer. Or there's something aftermarket wired in there that has control of the horn and lights. |
