Resonator? i just want to know if i get 2.25 custom midpipe, is it a wise idea to use the stock resonator? or get the aftermarket one? if getting the aftermarket resonator is the way to go, then what brand should i get? any specific size or model is designed for our cars? btw, i drive a 2001 civic sedan (1.7 non vtec) |
get the magnaflow cat back!!hehe or dont use resonator at all, yo, u going to meet today? |
i already got my eyes on a muffler so i wont get Magnaflow cat back...but thanx for the hint macrossranma and i can't make it to the meet. so anyone else can help me answer my question? |
what kind of exhaust are u using? and u should get the exhaust and get a straight pipe with no resonator.... because u will still have a cat in ur headers.... |
I have 2.25" piping with no resonator... You don't need the resonator, but if you decide to keep it on your sound/airflow will decrease by 15-25%. (Do not quote me on this) What kind of muffler are you getting? If you're getting a "quiet" one, ditch the resonator. If you're getting something like an N1 (loud), i'd say keep it... |
i am getting the Mugen Twin Loop muffler....so should i use the resonator or dont need one? |

ok...but it wouldnt hurt if i keep the stock resonator? cuz cops around my area are D ick and as soon as they see civic with exhaust they will give out meaningless ticket for excessive noise |
If you want it loud then leave the resonator off. If you want it quieter then keep the resonator on. The end. |
twin loop won't be loud..so take off the reson |
i just put my resonator back on...i gotta ticket last month for for exhaust...the cop said he can hear my car 3 blocks away...hahahaha...it is pretty loud and gets annoying too...but with the resonator on and my revolution exhaust there isn't much noise but i'm there for the looks of a shiny muffler in the back and not the alarm setting off noise...peace |
