Steering alignment off after drop
 

Well, I installed the B&G coil overs, but I just noticed that my steering wheel is not aligned right. If I have the steering wheel straight, the car will steer right. So if I have the wheel slightly turned to the left, it will stay straight. What is it that I did wrong after installing the coil overs? Could it be the tie rod if I tightened one side more than the other??? That's all I could think of I might of did wrong that would affect the steering wheel alignment with the car.

it could just be the alignment of the tires, take it to local tire shop and get a 4 wheel alignment and if that dont help they should be able to tell u what will

Generally speaking, most body shops do an alignment after any type of suspension work so if you did the coils yourself (and it sounds like you did) take it to a local tire/suspension shop and get an alignment done. That should fix the problem.

I just had my springs put on and they had to go back and realign the steering wheel too. It only takes em 10 minutes to realign the steering wheel.

I have changed the springs on my car twice and both times the steering wheel was off afterwards. The first time was really bad. The second wasn't off quite as much. The second time I just tried to align the strut with the tie rod end as perfectly as I could. Anyhow, you should be getting an alignment after changing the springs anyway.

I just dropped mine with some GoldLine springs...about a 1.5-1.75 drop..who knows..but..i took it to the tire shop for alighment...drives perfect..feels good.

just do the same..itll cost ya around 30-60$ depending where you take it.

most of the time the alignment will be off after you take/put back on the suspension.. for me it was fine or atleast it feels that way... please post in the suspension forum next time

places like sears will give you a lifetime alignment warranty

just let the coils settle in first before you get the alignment done. if you do it now, there is a good chance you will have to do it again b/c the ride height will change after they settle. also be sure to have the ride height where you want it before you decide to align it.

You installed b+g full coilovers your self?? I guess you werent aware of the lifetime warranty they offer if "professionally" installed. One

hey gurneelx, were them GC's a pain in the a$s to install?? I head they were andi hear that the reason they have them on sell is because poor craftsman ship, they they blow fast??This true?? One

I installed it myself because the person who sold it to me said it was very easy and he would take all responsibility if there was any problems. He guided me through it. Plus, it's not LIFETIME warranty. The springs are lifetime, but the struts are only 2 years.

Sorry about the post in tech stuff Vnlilman, I read the forum for suspension, but didn't look like it said to post tech questions like this.

As for alignment, I guess that's the problem then. I just thought my camber or toe would be off. Wasn't expecting my steering wheel to be off too. Thx for the tip guys.
