Valve TDC question please. Thank you. I have a D17A2 SOHC head ready to bolt to block. Issue is I want some assurance I have the valve position correct before I torque it down so there is no interference. There are 16 valves and at TOP DEAD CENTER no valves should be sticking there neck out so to speak when I torque head to the block from what I have read. So which of the 16 valves would open next then please? I am assuming 1 of the exhaust valves of cylinder #1. I do not want to assume. I have been calling mechanics and offering cash for this info yet get the cold shoulder every time. I have a Helm's manual, Haynes, and Chilton, which only seem to make good paper weights on this topic. |
Re: Valve TDC question please. Thank you. there should be some sort of line or notch on the cylinder head and the cam gear. line them up and you're at TDC |
