hybrid cluster compatible with 03+ EX style?

does anyone know if they just plug in, or is there modification required??

Caucasian.Asian 03-26-2006 10:37 PM

i wanted to do this before i did my 03 swap. but since no one did it, i didn't even try. you'll have so many unused features on those gauges anyways...

manahoonie 03-26-2006 10:45 PM

here goes gearbox....

AGAIN!...

lol. no clue, but i agree with simeon (caucasian.asian)

gearbox 03-27-2006 11:24 AM

so many unused features? the only part that wouldn't be used is the ima, but if i'm right all it does is measure voltage. So i may be able to get that working too as a graphical voltmeter.

varner88 06-23-2006 12:13 PM

gearbox if you figure it out let me know i have the same cluster i wanna get wired up soon i just need sum wiring diagrams

gearbox 06-23-2006 01:06 PM

okay i'll try, been really busy.

varner88 06-23-2006 01:30 PM

alright cool im trying to find diagrams but no luck so far.

tinman 06-23-2006 01:39 PM

Oh NOOOOOO...... Not again!! :D

stephenb80 06-26-2006 08:13 PM

i know someone with a hybrid, i will ask him to take some pics of the wires.

varner88 06-26-2006 11:45 PM

we need to kno the color of the wire on the hyrbrid and wut each color wire does.

stephenb80 06-27-2006 12:05 AM

this is all i got. maybe the dealer knows what the wires do?

varner88 06-27-2006 07:58 AM

hey gearbox by looking at that you think you could figure it out?

RHCP0801 06-27-2006 08:00 AM

well gearbox said he was never coming back to the site so i dont know if he will answer that question

varner88 06-27-2006 08:02 AM

lol wtf i missed that.. wut happened?

RHCP0801 06-27-2006 08:33 AM

he said he has been having so many problems with his headlights and had to go to the dealer to buy new headlights for $400 and quit working on his car and coming to this site, its in the OT forum somewhere

tinman 06-27-2006 11:15 PM

This forum is like a drug. He'll eventually be back for more. :D

gearbox 06-29-2006 10:53 PM

i checked my service book (electrical) and there is no mention of a hybrid. so you need to find the hybrid electrical manual and look it up. im done./

varner88 06-30-2006 12:18 AM

ok.. shit ibetter save those pics then and start looking cuz this cluster is so sexy

gearbox 06-30-2006 12:31 AM

the problem i see is setting up the battery meter as a voltmeter and figuring out what the extra light green wire and stuff is for. i remember our cars dont have alot of those color that the hybrid does. could be a completely different harness in which case you need to find out every wire and match it up, hoping it will work without blowing up something

Ti71 06-30-2006 12:43 AM

Well, a hybrid cluster does have Charge & Assist meters, auto stop indicator, instantaneous mpg meter , avg mpg indicator, shift up and shift down indicators (MT). I have a feeling this is gonna be a PITA to install, but good luck to ya!

varner88 06-30-2006 08:33 AM

well i have a auto version of the cluster an auto car so..

but as for the mpg and volts and all thatwut if i dont hook those up and hook the other things up will that still work?

gearbox 06-30-2006 08:45 AM

well ya alot of stuff wont work like the auto stop thing, assist, etc. the battery meter prolly will, i bet its just like a voltmeter. the gauges should work, maybe not the gas mileage calculator.

varner88 06-30-2006 06:44 PM

i jus want the basic mph rpm P R N D lights gas light and what not i dont need the battery meter unless its easy to hook up .. lol becuase it kinda looks cool

gearbox 06-30-2006 07:09 PM

dealer should have the hybrid book im guessing but its hard to find. ive never even seen one.

varner88 07-01-2006 01:43 AM

well my friend works at honda so i can get it for free

gearbox 07-19-2006 03:51 PM

sniperscout came through for us with the hybrid wire colors. so now its a matter of putting together my pics to what the wires actually do, and i think it would work. i dont really want a hybrid cluster, so its not a hi priority for me, but here they are.

http://www.geocities.com/pldandrea/HybridGauges.pdf

varner88 07-19-2006 08:26 PM

confusing.. lol but if you know how to read that can you make a list of what the colors are and what they do?

gearbox 07-19-2006 09:53 PM

i'll try. you just have to look at the box that says gauges or cluster and look at the wires directly connected to that.

luciferi 11-26-2006 12:58 AM

The link for wiring does not work anymore? Is there a new link?

sniperscout 12-21-2006 12:31 AM

I am working on getting the diagram put back on here. Been having troubles with my web hosting
