aiming tyc headlight???

i cant find how to do it please help quick before it rains :( all it has is bolts in the back i loosened and nothing happens.

runner1738 03-08-2006 04:56 PM

they do something something , i wish i remembered the sequence, just park your car near a wall, and move the screws i think its the inner one that moves it left right and the outer one up down, but still there is a correct way to aim them , with something like if your 15 feet from a wall, the beam should reach so high off the ground and so forth, but i cant remember what that is either, i never had them aimed properly though, sorry i couldnt be of more help

Civicman1988 03-08-2006 04:58 PM

gearbox 03-08-2006 09:00 PM

damn 3 hrs later i think its acceptable. i just did the kneel method to see that they are both pretty level. but one of the projector doesn't have a good cut-off? the other is great. am i gonna have to do this again when I put new bulbs?

C-Mo 03-08-2006 11:21 PM

I'm thinking of getting a set of TYC lights for my black 2002 Civic EX. Does anybody have any pics of what the black TYC projectors look like installed on a black car??? Do they really have better lighting than stocks??? Thanx in advance

gearbox 03-08-2006 11:41 PM

see my pic thread for lighting pics. black on black looks pimp.

dp_yz713 03-09-2006 12:12 AM

ooooo yah thats what i got. black on black baby. i will see if i can find the pics

gearbox 03-09-2006 12:14 AM

dp_yz713 03-09-2006 12:15 AM

yah thats what mines were, so i painted them black. i am at school right now so when i get home i will post pics

Victorious 03-09-2006 12:20 AM

projectors are better than blacked out stockies?

no thread jack intended :_ontome:

C-Mo 03-09-2006 12:22 AM

How well do these project at night?? better, worse, or the same as OE lights? Would adding foglights aid in visibility?

gearbox 03-09-2006 12:28 AM

actually NO. with projectors, it fills alot of the space close to the bumper. fog lights would be useless. check my night pics here with stock bulbs. planning on gettin brighter ones soon.

C-Mo 03-09-2006 12:34 AM

Ok, foglights out. So they project the same as OE, just they ad more light to just infront of the bumper. Sorry, I'm slightly confused by your answer.

gearbox 03-09-2006 12:49 AM

just look at my pics in the link i gave. they don't project like stock, more like a W pattern. stock has a bigger blob of light that extends further. here is a pic of my stock light. compare it to the projector pics i posted already.

http://www.7thgencivic.com/memberrid.../7/lights3.jpg

now here is a projector shot, which looks alot dimmer

dp_yz713 03-09-2006 01:14 AM

but isnt that the phillips vision plus in the stockers, and regular bulbs inthe projectors?

my projectors came with silverstars in them, and they dont really make a difference

gearbox 03-09-2006 01:25 AM

true. so its not as fair i guess. the silverstar i'm gettin is clear tho not the coated one.

dp_yz713 03-09-2006 01:32 AM

from powerplus bulbs? i wouldnt have payed for the coated ones either, just they came in the highs and lows. i paid 20 bucks for the projectors with 2 sets of silverstars lol

gearbox 03-09-2006 01:42 AM

i'm gettin osram silverstar from ebay. paid $60 for 4 bulbs which isn't too bad.

dp_yz713 03-09-2006 01:46 AM

sweet. never thought about looking for them on there

gearbox 03-09-2006 01:52 AM

but yea the projectors dont put out as much coverage as stock. now i know why everyone wants a retrofit. i'll prolly do one in the distant future.

Gammarus 03-09-2006 02:01 AM

are those silverstars better then PIAA bulbs?
