Fuel Injector Cleaner? Does anyone use a fuel injector cleaner additive? The ones your supposed to add every time you change your oil? Is this a good practice or do natural detergents in gasoline already do that? Are there any side effects of adding fuel injector cleaner? |
yea those things work... and it's a good idea........ but my car is still NEW so i won't use it until i notice a little sluggish pull on my car |
You got to check that in the manual but, if you use gasoline with cleaning additives you should be good! |
I use STP fuel injector cleaner every other time I fill up. It prevents buildup of deposits inside of the fuel injectors and fuel lines. Good stuff. Pretty cheap for what it does. Get the weaker stuff and use it every other day. It should be about $1.50 - $2.00 per bottle. |
I got to check in the manual but I think it tell ya not to use them things |
Nah, pg. 162: << We reccomend gasolines containing detergent additives that help prevent fuel system and engine deposits. >> The stuff that I mentioned does just that. It helps to prevent fuel system deposites. |
if you just buy the 92 oct at cheveron it has more cleaners. it's just about the same price as buying a seperate cleaner. |
those things r great for peeps who use cheap gas |
I used to use injector cleaners on my old Altima. It helps. You just have to remember to run the whole tank with it, otherwise you'll diluted if you fill your tank with new gas before it's empty. These days I don't nother use injector cleaners. Once in a while I just put in Sunoco 94 instead. It's easier, and in reality it doesn't cost anymore. |
