Gauges sticking, please help!
 

I put my reverse indiglo gauges on a few weeks ago and noticed right afterwards that my needles jumps from 0mph to around 5-10mph instead of gradually going up. I tried to fix them today, i re did everything, and re-taped them down, and it is stil doing it.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem with the gauges I put in. Sorry to say man, but you broke it. If you checked everything and taped it all down, than you broke something on the inside.

Not the needle, like the gearing inside. Thats why it is skipping. You might be able to take it apart and fit it.

On the idiglo gauges or my gauge cluster?

what i mean is that if i remove the reverse indiglo gauges, would my needle skip?

I'm talking about the gauge cluster itself. You must had turned the needles turn much or forced them one way too hard. I never got a chance to take mine part and look at it. I ended up trading the car in before I got around to fixing it.

I never forced anything or turned them to much. I was very careful.

How do I fix this????????

Is this going to throw off my miles on my odometer?? thats another thing ive been wondering...

Did you try taking off the gauges, and seeing if it does it w/ the stock setup?

or are you just having problems with the indiglos?

If you're good with the stock gauges, just dont tape down the indiglos....I didn't, and I have yet to have a problem.

I had the same problem with my indiglo's. Take it from me, take the shitty ass gauges out. Stock setup is best. Nothing is wrong with your gearing, your odometer, or your needle. I spent six months with my needle jumping from 60mph to 110mph with me wondering how fast am I going. The only good thing that could come out of this is that you will seriously learn how to read your tach as a speedometer. I.e. 5k rpm in 5th = 99mph. That sort of thing will get stuck in your head if you keep the indiglos in. Anyway, indiglos are pretty ricey in the end anyway, so my advise is just take that shit out of there.

I had the same problem as well...I just took the reverse EL's out and messed around with the needles until they didn't stick anymore. I found that if you take the clear plastic piece of the cluster out while your driving, you can "mess" with the needles until they are fixed. It's not that big of a deal, trust us!!

No, I have not tried it without the indiglo's on...
I know they are kinda ricey but I think they look cool and I like them. And it only jumps from 0-5 or 10 mph not like 60-110 or whatever, cause thats a huge difference. Im under the impression from yall though that it will not mess up my odometer.

Right now, im not sure what I am going to do cause i like them and just paid $35 for them a few weeks ago.

Like I said, just take the clear cover off of them and put the cluster back in. Next, pull up on the needle slightly as your going down the road. After you get it from sticking, jut pull the cluster out and put the clear piece back on.
