Cutting production?

I read that Honda may cut production of the hybrid Accord because sales are no where near where it wants them to be.

What makes one hybrid, Civic, sell better than another, Accord?

civic hybrids have better economy... accord hybrids are based on the V6 accord motor.. wich means more gas when it's running on the gas motor... also, it will amke the car much more expensive... generally people that buy hybrids buy them to be very economical... thus, the civic is a better choice...

I read an article about that on insideline.com and trust me when I say that most things usually come down to the almight dollar!

Thank you. That makes sense. I read too that the Civic is still not selling as well as the Insight.

I think having a V6 hybrid was a bad idea to start with.
Hybrids are meant to save money V6's are guzzlers. Really dont know why they bothered making it.

Maybe because Accord was such a popular car. Maybe they thought they could capitalize on that market and boost regular Accord sales as well. From all you guys have told me and what I've read, I agree it was a bad idea.

Next it will be hybrid SUV's, I'll really be laughing then..
They have to be practical, it gets silly when they start making big cars/tanks into hybrid forms.

I think somebody actually does have a hybrid suv. I don't remember who though, but maybe if a few people start making them some of the soccer moms and macho men will buy them even though a lot of them care more about their needs than ecology or gas mileage. (no offense to any soccer moms here)
