Honda dealer services

Are Honda dealers now capable of carrying out full services on the new Hybrid?

Or will owners have to take the car elsewhere for services?

I cant see why they wouldnt be ready to service it.. they wouldnt sell a car with warranty if they couldnt service it themself! :)

My 06 HCH II has been in the garage since December. Honda dealership was having trouble reading out the error codes from the computer. The service tech told me that typically Honda will not release the service manual for a new car till three months after the car has been on the market.

If they are having trouble reading error codes, doesnt that show poor communication between manufacturing and servicing departments?

Do the Civic Hybrids have as long a waiting list as the other ones I've heard of? From what I'm hearing this is not the kind of thing where you can just walk into the shop and drive out with the car.

I have had more issues with this car than just reading the codes out. The dealership finally got the software to read the codes out and it reset the computer before they all were read out. Then it went Honda Corporate headquarters in Torrance, CA for almost 2 weeks and they also could not fix the problem. I still have not gotten back my car.

Thats shocking, they are actually keeping your car?
Surely you can complain to someone about that, eg consumer affairs?

I'm really not happy to hear about all these problems. because we are considering buying a hybrid. Do other hybrids hace these problems when they need to be repaired or just the Civics?

I think you'll find that you wont have a problem getting a service on your Hybrid... most areas will have the dealers servicing them now.
