Painting Chrome rims

I know a little bit about the idea, i just want to know what you guys think. I have a set of 17" chrome motegi rims that i want black. Should i have them powder coated black for 75 bucks a rim from a really good pc buisness, or bead blast the chrome off with a sand blaster then just paint them black my self. These rims are in good condition, there is zero chrome chipping or anything. is it possible to just paint over the chrome.

Re: Painting Chrome rims

you probably could paint over the chrome, but it would be better to remove the chrome first.. its really up to you how much you want to spend and how much money and time you have.

I would say have them blasted and then powder coated, its way better than paint and will last for a long time.
