Dyno results with my i/h/e

Just got back. I also had him hook up a wide band o2 sensor to see my A/F ratio. It's been feeling like it bogs at first. The guy running the dyno said that my A/F is killing some horsepower. I'm thinking about an apexi a/f controller..not sure yet. He also said that I keep gaining power...to bad I don't have more revs

My current setup is Injen CAI, HP Header, and Comptech Exhaust. When I had my SRI (off ebay) and Hp Header, I was getting 146whp and 122.8 in torque...but that was with hitting the rev limiter. I asked him if that would show more, and he said yes, about 2-3hp at the most. Here are the two newest dyno, the one after the two, is the old dyno with I/H and notice the spike at the end

You should get hondata.

NitehawkVTEC 07-02-2003 05:13 PM

150 at the wheels. not bad at all. you should get hondata for sure. maybe a Vafc. but you won't get the V working yet will you?

yeah, I don't think the V part of a vafc will work, I could just get the safc I guess.

Giuseppe 07-04-2003 07:43 PM

Definitely get Hondata.

EternalVTEC 07-28-2003 05:17 PM

nice flat torque curves, and 150 at the wheels is petty good. ill have to keep your combo in mind

EternalVTEC 07-28-2003 05:18 PM

btw, anyone know the hp and torque numbers at the wheels stock?

I've seen it anywhere between 125-135whp stock and torque at 120-125 stock

curbsquirrel 07-29-2003 01:47 PM

not bad numbers....throw a turbo on there and you'll be pushin out 240 at the wheels... oooo baby thats hot...

02SilverSiHB 07-29-2003 02:20 PM

I just put my stock exhaust back on. I'm wanting hondata as it will probably be a long time until I go boost. I'll be heading to the dyno when I get a chance so I can see how my whp I lost.

civicvtec1ps 08-08-2003 03:31 PM

vafc 2 supposed to work with k20 and d17 motors..

HondaLuver 09-06-2003 03:19 PM

"suppost to" we don't know yet

sleepin02si 11-12-2003 11:15 PM

damn! you put those dyno's up everywhere, didn't you? j/k

02SilverSiHB 11-13-2003 10:36 AM

:D had to spread the word. I'll be getting another dyno when I put the down pipe on with the 2.25" midpipe. I hope it is better than that one.

blue03civic 11-25-2003 10:47 PM

nice numbers!

sleepin02si 11-26-2003 05:32 AM

Cool! Thanks for the update! Taz needs more power :D

good luck

EternalVTEC 12-06-2003 10:15 PM

jees, 02, its hard to kep up with you, it seems you get a new setup every couple weeks!

:D yeah. I can never make up my mind. I got rid of the comptech then went with the stock exhaust. now I have a 2.25" mid pipe. then I had a test pipe along with that, didn't like the sound, so put the stock one back on.

But I don't think I'll bother going to the dyno anyway...I go to the drag strip a few times and can never get out of the 15.5's. I always hit 15.5's doesn't matter what mods it seems. So I see it as, why bother?

EternalVTEC 12-07-2003 11:55 AM

True, true

i have 2002 SIR and i'm just woundering what kind of mood do i need to put in order to run faster compare to stock.my car got 5zigen muffler and lowered it for about 1.8' and 18 inch of konig blatant wrap in nankang tires.i dont drug race but i run fast in highway especially if i spotted celicas, bmw, rsx, and other cars that has mood on them or car that has a sporty looks.

well.....you might want to get rid of the 18's they will slow you down for starters. Get some 16's or at the most 17's.

Also, if you want some mods to make you go faster, you will probably want to get a supercharger or a turbo. Intake, header and exhaust can only do so much. I take it you met drag race, not drug race? Even if you don't drag race, you will want to go with some boost to keep up with the cars that are out these days.
Or swap your motor for a k20a2 (type s motor) and put some toda cams, springs, flywheel, clutch, header, exhaust, and intake, and reflash the ecu and you can get about 225whp and 150tq from what I've seen on this all motor setup.

speedking604 12-17-2003 09:56 PM

ok that's nice ,,,,, but i still want my car to look good.....i mean,18 inch is better looks besides my stock tire compare to my 18'' konig blatant is same weight but the handling is way better and looks way better too.i don't need to slow down on winding road especially now i live in whistler.not too much straight. i was thinking of getting i/h/ and downpipe but i think i'd rather save my money for supercharger or turbo. i don't know how to start ........ any idea???

ps: how come when i put h/i/muffler on my 1.7 el, it seems i lost power on my car??? this is one of the reason why i still dont want to put header, downpipe and intake for my 2002 SIR coz it might happen again.

please help more........ i have 2002 SIR

speedking604 12-21-2003 09:53 PM

so any one can help me with this

EternalVTEC 01-04-2004 08:50 PM

with the same setup on your SiR, youll see a little better power gain, but, probbably not the gains youre lookin for. in your case youll want to go with a header/supercharger, though its not for me, it sounds like thats what you want
