Honda Civic 2001 LX Sedan

I have a Honda Civic 2001 LX Sedan and I don't have the manual anymore. I usually go to the dealer for Oil change but decided to do it myself and save some extra cash.

What is the amount in QUARTS that I should put back in when I put in new Oil?

I greatly appreciate any feedback and comments...

Thanks!

Start with 3.5 qts. Run it, then check and add if necessary.

Ok.. Thank you...

When the dealers do it, do you think it's measured? It seems to be leaking on the gasket and I feel they put to much...

How do you measure and read the measurement from the dipstick?

Appreciate it... Thanks!

Pull the dipstick, wipe it clean, re-insert for a few seconds, pull it back out and you will see the oil level. There are two holes, the first is the minimum oil level, the second is the full line, the level should be kept on the second line.

I never measure the oil. I just put in 3.5 quarts and adjust if necessary.

I'm not sure what you mean by leaking at the gasket, if you mean the seal around the dipstick or oil cap, it's probably just spillage.

You should check the oil level and tire pressures routinely.

I take a gallon jug full of oil and pour most of it all over the top of the engine.......

No, I measure 3.5, then check after running it.
