timing belt or chain does a 2004 honda civic dx model have a timing belt or chain? |
Re: timing belt or chain belt |
Re: timing belt or chain I was wondering, the dealer said they thought that it had a chain instead of a belt, but was not sure. |
Re: timing belt or chain Ugh. Never go back to that dealer. |
Re: timing belt or chain Sadly, they are the only Honda dealer in the area. |
Re: timing belt or chain 01-05 = belt 06-10 = chain They must have gotten confused. Going to push mine to 110k most likely, maybe 105 ?? |
Re: timing belt or chain they were confused. The dealership said that Honda changed from timing belt to timing chain in 04.Since mine is a 04 they were not sure what mine had. Thanks for your answer.Atleast now I know I have a belt.Even though I wish it had a chain. |

Going to push mine to 110k most likely, maybe 105 ?? that is really stupid I would not go past 75k on the belt they usually snapp just past 100k and I had one go on a prelude at 62k but it was at 6 years old which is the limit if you have not put much mileage on the carrr*. they are just too easy to replace to let it go that long.

Re: timing belt or chain honda manual says 109k for the timing belt on 01-05 civics. 90k for older civics. i would just do around 100k. its not like its gonna break if you wait a bit longer tho. those belts are usually rated for 150k miles. |
