PCV Valve questions

hey everyone,
i am new to the whole DIY circuit and have a few questions about the pcv valve. i have a 1992 civic sir which is the canadian version with a b16a(2?) engine in it and i was wondering when buying a pcv valve do i buy the part according to the engine or to the car? because places like autozone assume it is either a 1.5L or a D15/16...and also, when buying a valve is this the type of thing that needs a quality part, or will the $3 generic one at autozone be fine?
thanks for all the help, i am trying to troubleshoot coolant disappearing / failing smog / occasionally small amount of white smoke from exhaust. thanks everyone!

Re: PCV Valve questions

When the Auto Parts guys look it up for you and they pull it up on the screen , are the parts numbers the same..if not-bring your old one in with you for a match up...

Re: PCV Valve questions

ah, that answered one of my questions! i just went to autozone.com and checked part numbers and they're the same, but that lead me to another question... when buying an o2 sensor does it need to match the car or the engine since that does have different part numbers?

sorry, also for the water pump and timing belt i am assuming it is for the engine not the car? why can't vendors just put what engine the part is for!!!!!!!
