dang you guys get lot more mileage then me, i gots a 99 civic lx 1.6L. i barely get like 300mpg

ronaldo9 02-20-2007 11:28 PM

Best gas mileage I've ever recorded was this weekend driving from North Carolina to New Jersey all highway made 380 miles and when I filled up it only let me fill 9.22 gallons so I could have easily made 400 miles on a tank. I have crower stage 2 cam AEM V2 and HP header/test pipe and megan exhaust. I drove 75-80mph the whole way.

illustrious100 02-21-2007 12:38 AM

06 lx sedan. got some 9,000 miles on it. I just bought it from a used car dealership. I got something like 23-24mpg. 250-300 miles per tank. that's mostly city driving with highways on weekends.

LT2004ever 02-21-2007 12:59 AM

01 civic Ex
Auto Trans.
340miles on full tank, well 11.225 used(A/C 50%)
50%street 50% Highway

70% highway 40% street

lxcivic2k1 02-21-2007 01:03 AM

Best I've gotten is 38mpg(mostly highway coming back from the lake) and farthest is 430 miles to the tank.
01 Lx 5spd K&N filter, Magnaflow cat-back, 17s, and a 2 12s in the trunk.

Sturgeon-Phish 02-21-2007 01:26 AM

I keep records of everything with the civic. I regularly get 37+ mpg in the winter. In the summer 44. On three ocasions I've gotten 50 mpg (honest). Each time it was nonstop 270 highway miles. My driving is old man easy, 55 at most, no passengers, 80% highway.
Jim

dalaw 02-21-2007 02:41 AM

i probably got up to 420 miles in a tank but i had gotten about 40.5 mpg in a different tank

Damn dude, did I miss that it was a hybrid?

$killer05coupe 02-21-2007 03:24 AM

36 mpg, manual trans., No AC

hondoer27 02-21-2007 06:04 AM

I got 41 mpg on the way back from columbus

AmbulanceMonkee 02-21-2007 08:08 AM

04 dx coupe, MT, 40k on car, AEM SRI, iridium plugs, no other engine mods

summer, i seem to average 32 mpg, got 39 mpg once on the way down to NJ, with some use of a/c. this winter, i've been getting ~26-30, not sure why. maybe i'm using more gas letting the car idle for 10 minutes to warm up.

05 civic VP (not a hybrid)
automatic transmission
farthest I've pushed a tank was 579.4 miles, and it took 12.149 gallons to fill (47.652 MPG)
best MPG to date is 50.164 MPG
my daily commute is 90% Highway, and I drive 50-55mph.

I track my stats each tank, and my average MPG over 26,500 miles is 42.671 MPG

85gp4 02-25-2007 03:52 PM

2004 sedan, auto. I average about 32-35 mpg.
I think the farthest I've gone on a tank is about 350 miles and I drive almost all highway.

my02civiclx 02-25-2007 05:49 PM

Im sorry if there was a similar thread buddy ... Its good information anyway :p Lets u know how much ur driving conditions suck comparing to the pros fetching almost a 500 mile distance on a single tank

03 EX Sedan with snow tires,

Was only getting around 28 mpg this winter (all highway miles). Then I remembered my last oil change was from a mechanic I had never been to before. Had the oil changed again, made sure 5W30 was put in, and now I'm getting 35mpg (all highway again).

The oil you use makes a difference. Using the thinner 5W20 will probably give a few more mpg's. Also, I've found that a dirty air filter will also kill your gas mileage.

gearbox 02-25-2007 09:16 PM

2002 ex sedan, auto, 55k miles, 95% highway, some a/c, full tank, 42mpg.

grncivic2001 02-25-2007 09:21 PM

01 civic ex 5 sp best i ever got in my civic was 415 m a tank after trading it in for a 07 trailblazer i got a best of 420miles a tank filled with 21.25 gallons 60% highway 40% city

35neutral 02-28-2007 12:36 AM

Best Mileage

I have an 06 LX with about 35K miles. I've gotten 550 miles on a tank, all highway driving. With a mixture of city and highway, or even mostly (80-90%) city driving, I have never gotten below 400.

jnlzr 02-28-2007 01:16 AM

...

i dont know how you guys get such grat mpg.. i get 28 mpg and try so hard to pass 300 on a tank...(mostly city, some higway)... when do you stop and get gas.. i get gas when the low fuel light comes on for the second time????

04 civic ex
aem cai
06 rsx-s catback...
newly change oem plug(ngk double plat.)

miklovo 02-28-2007 02:14 AM

Isn't this like the zillionth "best gas milage" thread on the site, I swear someone starts another one every 6 months...oh well.....I get about 380 miles to the tank, 70% city, 30% highway

EggRollBandit05 02-28-2007 03:59 AM

^^^woot Sacramento

My mpg sucks. Most I've gotten out of a full tank is about 330 miles and thats after topping off and going 10+ miles after gas light went on, but I do 90% city. Another reason why I wish I had manual.

aliefjoker 03-01-2007 07:22 AM

'02 Civic EX AT

When I first got the car, I did around 450 on a tank as my best. After tinkering with it, I average around 350 now:confused:

Oh yeah, 50/50 city/highway
