Which maitenance is worth the effort

Which maintenance is worth the effort to do our own? Assuming that you don't work full time as a mechanic and only have spare time on the weekend.

I would have thought
1) Change Oil and Oil Filter (every 10k)
2) Cleaning and change Air Filter
3) Filling all the lube...

any other thought?

change the oil sooner, if your just using regualr 5-20 oil you should change it 3000 miles, if your using full sythentic change it every 3000-5000 miles. change your oil filter every oil change. your air filter should be changed about 10000-15000 miles, just check it every oil change. if you can see light through the filter then it is still good. you should always check all your fluids and keep them full. and change everything on time. all that will keep your car in good shape.

Invest on a torque wrench, jacks and stands

a good Torue wrench would cost just about $30-40 bucks and now you can rotate your own tires

oil/filter changes and air filter changes are simple.

if you were to run conventional oil, id change it and the filter every 5,000mi.
if you were to run synthetic oil, id change it and the filter every 7,500-10,000mi
air filter every 15,000mi
