First Timer Ok, so since i've had my civic it's been almost 3,000 miles (right now its just above 71,000) so what is everything i will need to change? Also, should i do it myself (never had before but i probably could) or should i just bring it to a place that will do it for $30? I have no idea what the place used that i got it from and it didn't come with a manual. Oil, trans fluid, etc? |
you obviously needa take it to the place....dont do it urself...cuz u kinda dont know what ur talking about... if ur vic only has 7k miles, all u need is an oil change....its pretty easy, but its a challenge to people who dont know what they're talking about.... =] trans. fluid is not needed to be changed. |
My bad, i forgot a zero... haha. |
at $71,000, $30 isnt going to cut it. an oil change to begine with $10-$15. tranny fluid change with honda ATF ( or manaul fluid if a manaul) $20-$40. air filter $10 spark plugs (good ones) $30-$40. brake fluid change $5 yourself with help or $30-$100 for a shop. basically if you do stuff yourself you pay the cost of the fluid. a shop is going to charge the labor. but if you take it in, look to spend at least $100. |
^also check ur brake pads |
Also, i just bought it from a dealer and it was fully serviced (new tires and everything) so that's almost 3k on all new stuff so would i still need spark plugs, brake pads, brake fluid, etc? |
if you bought it from a dealer then it should be fine(as long as they did their job maintaining the car) |
never trust the dealer. I say that when buying a used car. I have purchased a used car before and 2 days after I bought it checked the tranny fluid and it was black. not everything is done at the dealer. I doubt they did the plugs, check the brakes, look at the brake fluid. usually you can tell if its been done. |
