oil change intervals... i've been told the 2005 7th gens only require an oil change every 10k miles? so i was wondering how often do we need to change ours? i usually change mine every 5k...thanks in advance! |
thats fine....every 5k is very good..... |
i do mine every 7,500 with synthetic. 5k is a good interval. |
5k with dino shouldn't be a problem at all. synthetic 7500-10k no problem. |
Even driving hard? |
Yes. |
i do 5-6k but i also use lc20, just wanna be safe. |
damn forealz...i use mobile 1 full syn and change my oil every 4k =( |

Every 10K with full Mobil 1 5W30:argue: synthetic with both my Neon and Civic. If a Neon can last 120K miles and still not burn a drop of oil changing it every 10K, then surely a Civic should be able to handle it.. |
Thats cool, i'm at 5 now with my Mobil 1. I'm gonna change it soon cause it's getting dark and it was in there during winter. |
the color of oil does not determine when you change it. oil gets dirty. it's supposed to. if it doesn't, then it's not doing its job. |
i usually go every 3k with 5w 20 oil, so i guess there is no need to do it that often than? |
no. you can get easily 5000. the 3000 mile oil change is an old mantra from the past when oils were nowhere NEAR the quality of today's oils. |

This civic is an SI, totally different motor, your civic has an economy based motor, an Si has a performance based motor. They are built differently, in short the performance motors will have more blow by than an economy motor, hence eat more oil. |
ok good |
