30,000 mile service

I recently rolled over 30,000 and I need to know what maintence I need to get done. I change my oil every 3,500 and rotate every 7,000. I just got finished changing my engine air filter. Anything else I'm missing? I plan to buy spark plugs and have a shop put them in(I don't have the tools and had a bad experience in my old car) and was wondering what a good pirce is to have this done.

Your manual says your plugs are good for 100,000 miles, I would bother changing them before say 50,000 and they are platinum

A dealership near me wants $415 for the service through.

I have 24,200 on the clock right now. I'm prob. going to do it myself. This maintenance stuff is pretty easy. It prob. totals less than $100 retail in parts.

i have 22,500 miles and when i hit 30K im doing that maintenance, just because i cant do anything..........and i cant have my car **** up...but then im sure it wont.....eeh:shrug:

for the 2 of you who want maintenence at 24,000 and 30,000 miles, it is not necessary. there isnt much that needs to be done. Spark plugs are good for 75,000-100,000 miles, coolant is good up till 100,000 miles, you have already changed your oil, and air filter. only thing that is done at these intervals in checking everything, brakes, suspension, etc... and that stuff the dealer just looks over, if even at all and charges a shit load.

Most of that you can check yourself.

Now if you want and may do is change the tranny fluid if you have an automatic. a drain and refill is fine. very easy to do.

trans fluid, brake fluid (every 3 years), coolant

Weird. I think I have to change the brake fluid on my CBR every year, or something like that. Supersports are like that, I guess.

i rolled over 34000 and i'm planning on plugs, fuel filter, cabin filter(smells like cigs, stupid me) synthetis trans fliud and syn power steering fluid. the synthetic will help move thing more smoothly and get better mpg and same with the plugs and fuel filter. i was gettin 450-500 a tank and now get at most 380, gas price suck so doin this stuff to ur car is good no matter how u look at it.

damn you are just waisting your money on all of that.

I would change the plugs maybe at 50-75,000 miles, the fuel filter is in the fuel tank and its a lifetime filter and expensive (around $50), cabin filter is fine, if you have an auto I would use honda ATF, nothing else, and you dont even need to worry about the PS fluid. Your at an early mileage. Most I would do is an oil change, air filter change, bleed the brakes, and change the tranny fluid.
