hi flow cat + gasoline

ive read the manual stating something like using leaded gasoline can cause fires or damage the cat converter/car? but im catless and wanted to know does it make difference on which type gasoline (87/89/91) i use for my vehicle if i have no cat? i have the megan racing downpipe/test pipe.

also, i filled up 91 the other day (dont ask why, it was free gasoline) and i must admit that my car ate it so quick compared to 87/89. any idea why? i thought higher grade fuel was suppose to last longer but i guess not eh? :flush:

its probably the cat thats giving you shtty gas mileage. I have that cat too and just recently after I put it on that thing made my car waste more gas.

91 is harder to burn than 87. Resulting in giving you worse gas mileage, its been covered so much on here. 87 is recommended, anything else can hurt power. I use 91 cuz Im boosted, which causes a higher compression. I get about 31mpg turbo'd w/a high flow cat. You shouldnt get any worse gas mileage.

Do the idle learn procedure. If you dont know it, send me a PM, and Ill tell ya how. And only use 87 or 88, whatever you have for regular. Anything else is a waste of money and gas (except that it was free for ya). Good luck.

Peace
