Installing 05 Civic Hybrid folding mirrors on a 05 Civic LX Spec Coupe
 

well after many years of my low mile car sitting in storage due to a workplace injury i am getting to start all the projects i had planned back in spring of 08
i had bought a set of very nice 05 civic hybrid power mirrors that fold.
i was told they would never work but that is just not true.
they will plug right in and are very close to fitting in the space.
There is some things you will have to do to make these work.
This is what i have done so far and will post many pics once i have the mountings all set.
i have taken the original mirrors off and disassembled them and removed the mounting from them. You will also need the rubber boot from the original mirror to the car too.
Then go to your new mirrors and remove the mounting base off of it
and gently remove the wires from the plug. make sure you make a diagram to and do one side at a time.
you must remove all the mounting from the civic hybrid mirror and this is where you must take your time. you will cut the mounting off the old civic mirror and reuse that and will use a very high strength 2 part epoxy to attach it to the civic hybrid base. i have made one prototype and so far it looks great and no one even knows i have done it. they just think they bolted on. i will add pics soon to show you and will show you how i do the second one too
