Can a d16 be quick I have a 2001 civic d16 hatch and was wondering if these motors have any potential to be quick or should I just get a motor swap |
Re: Can a d16 be quick personally..i think they are a waste of time... just upgrade your motor.. and with little to no mods.. you will be satisfied. |
Re: Can a d16 be quick Anything can be quick ... if you have the money... |
Re: Can a d16 be quick yes this is true but using all theat money to build the d16 up will be almost the same if you swap and have barely any mods possibly even less if you know the right places to look for the swap or you have a friend but i have a d16z6 and with less powerful engines like this the first things you must do are air/fuel ratio this will have great increases then turbo/supercarge or w.e u want to do ur call ont hat one but im building my z6 up and ill post on how it goes gradually as i put more into it |
Re: Can a d16 be quick Depends on what you're using it for. In a straight line, no. Around a corner, yes, if you make suspension and handling your first priority. I've got a CRX running an unmodified D16 with exhaust, cold air intake, race coilovers and sway bars. The engine has 278k original miles and burns oil so bad I have to use 20-50 and still put in a quart every 2-3 weeks...but I still kill at Autocross! My last race in 2009 was prettymuch the worst race I've ever run, but I still beat the majority of the new civics and half of the WRXs that ran that day. |

Re: Can a d16 be quick A completely stock car can be competitive in its class for autocrossing. It really is highly dependent on the driver. |
