civicstylez 04-18-2006 11:31 PM

i cant say if there ebay ones i bought them off a private seller so i dont kno where they originated from........ and sorry there pics from my phone illl see if i can get better ones. but i was jus wondering if there suppose to project a beam or its suppose to be spread out. and im using silverstar bulbs and heres a pic of what my projectors look like.

here is what my tyc looks like with clear halogen bulb. Its a W shape but puts out more side light and less front light compared to stock

dp_yz713 04-19-2006 09:38 AM

those are the ebay ones. you wont get very good output with those and halogen bulbs. the picture i posted is with ebay projectors and thats the brightest and most light i have seen from ebay projectors. i am using the same bulbs as gearbox too. and it will look like the W. my left projector shines across a whole interstate and my right one can barely shine 50 feet and not too too far out in front, thats why i took them off.

and ebay ones DO make a W pattern. and these were not aimed perfectly because both of the mounting points broke on each one but they were close

which ebay do you have cause there are two. the one that first guy posted looks like crap. thats how much my parking light puts out.

dp_yz713 04-19-2006 10:17 AM

^^me? i have these. a guy at autozone gave them too me

but they are black now cuz chrome looks cheap

gearbox 04-19-2006 10:19 AM

ya yours are better. those dual halo ones posted above have the worst output. i dont think they are even legal

dp_yz713 04-19-2006 10:25 AM

ah i see. i painted mines black too cuz the chrome looks cheap as hell imo

one of my friends has the dual ones, and he is using some Eurodezigns bulbs and it projects green. i had those bulbs in H4 at the same time and mines were bluish white and his was green as hell.

i think that was his tyc projector retro

dp_yz713 04-20-2006 11:34 AM

yah its Valeo in TYC. click on "Retrofit" in his sig for pictures

dirtySAMURAI 04-20-2006 06:20 PM

that was the bad retrofit. the better one is on the car now :D

dp_yz713 04-20-2006 09:29 PM

why was it "bad" lol

and whys it "good" now?

dirtySAMURAI 04-21-2006 01:04 AM

the one right now isn't good, just better than the bad one. the valeo into tyc retrofit was bad because the valeo projectors don't put out as much light as my ZKW bi-xenon projectors do. also, the colorband was weaksauce compared to the ZKW.

dp_yz713 04-21-2006 01:13 AM

ahh i see. did you just take the Valoes out and put the bi-xenons or did you do another retro with another set of TYCs? if you just replaced them did they mount up the same as the Valoes or you had to mod them

dirtySAMURAI 04-21-2006 09:17 AM

i used OEM headlights with ZKW bi-xenon projectors.

jay78 04-21-2006 11:38 AM

infi got any pic from the new project ?
cuz i am planning to do Tl clear lens in oem housing let me know how u did it
thankx
wow and zkw are hard to find good one swaping lens ??

dirtySAMURAI 04-21-2006 04:13 PM

zkw lenses are as clear as reading glasses.
http://subdomain.dirtysamurai.com/pi...ntIMG_0121.jpg

back to the topic at hand, the halogen projectors should have a W pattern like everyone stated. the headlights that you have (the original poster) are not good in quality, but shouldn't be too hard to retrofit something in there.

dp_yz713 04-23-2006 09:27 PM

never seen those retroed with good HIDs.........

civicstylez 04-23-2006 09:37 PM

yea i kno thats y i wanna make sure be4 i go buying diff projectors...... infinite said the e55's should work but i jus wanna make sure be4 i blow 2 to 300 dollars

dp_yz713 04-23-2006 09:43 PM

if they dont work on those just buy some TYCs second hand. theres been some floating around the for sale threads for about 100

dirtySAMURAI 04-23-2006 09:53 PM

i have seen an e55 bi-xenon retrofit into those style headlights before. you have to cut away part of the turn signal reflector (or was it the high beam reflector) to make it fit, but it was a nice retrofit.
