Headlight Bulbs

I need some replacement Headlight bulbs for my 2002 honda civic. I have no idea what to get. HID conversions are way too expensive. I was thinking about the Mtec? please help me. All i want are the brightest bulbs around under 100 dollars. Also would I need to replace any of the wiring if I get differnt bulbs? Will I need to replace the wiring if I got the mtecs? Please help. Thanks

get Mtecs!
no wiring, just straight bulb replacement
get it for 25 shipped off ebay

I've heard the Mtechs are good. . Also if you wanna try something different try the Piaa H4 Gt3's. Remember when you buy a bulb get the 55 watt ones. That'll keep you from burning your plastic on the heads. .

get PIAA bulbs. the size is H4. PIAAs should cost you about $70. if you dont want to spend that much, get MTEC from ebay way cheaper than PIAA's. if you get the MTECs, make sure you only get the 2X, nothing higher.

stick with stock wattage which is 55/60 watts. MTEC 2X and PIAA super white is within stock wattage

I got the piaas, not be sure to get the 55w bulbs or you will fry your wires.

MTECS and PIAAs are nice bulbs with clean white color (or lack of color).

9003 also known as h4

Doesn't matter what brand you decide on buying, you will need these specific sizes to fit Civics.

PIAA Xtreme Whites (on high beem they look like real HID)

I just bought Mtecs after trying a lot of other brands on my previous car (6th gen civic) I use super white Mtecs with the higher then normal wattage of 90/100 and like them alot other other brands. I have used high wattage 100/130 watts in my 6th Gen since I bought it new to the day I traded it in for my 7th gen and never had issues with melting plastic due to the higher wattage. I have also had higher wattage in my 7th gen yet to have a problem after 10 months with melting and I do a lot of night driving. You can pick Mtecs up on ebay cheap if you look around.

Alright, I made the stupid mistake of getting MTEC 4X. Is it worth the risk to install them? I can't seem to find the 2X Bulbs on E-bay. Anybody know anywhere else?

Thanks!

I don't know, some people say theyve melted the wiring or the burned the inside of the light asembly. some say they dont. I had Nokya bulbs in mine twice and I did notice what looked like a burn marks underneath where the bulbs are. So i guess its up to you.

What about the PIAA (super plasma GT) H4. Are those safe to use on a 2003 civic?

if it has a wattage of 55/60 or 60/55 then it should be fine. if its any higher like in the 70's or 80's then it might cause harm to your headlight

I bought these European KOBA ultrawhite h4 bulbs from ebay and they work great!! Looks almost like HID's

Hefe 08-08-2003 09:57 PM

Polarg VIP Style H4's.... Same as PIAA GT's but without that annoying "gold beam of light" in the middle of the beam pattern.. They have a really nice purple/white light... These are the closest in color i have seen to actuall HID's

Jas88 08-09-2003 04:21 PM

I notice that PIAA doesent use Xenon technology in there bulbs. Isint Xenon brighter than Holagen? is there a big difference between a PIAA halagon and a Xenon bulb?

where did u find those super plasma GTs and @ what price?

Jas88 08-14-2003 07:36 PM

I ended up getting the Super Plasma PIAA bulbs. There just as good as GTs but lower priced. I got them at ORW (Of Road Wherehouse) for 65 dollers.

Marion26 08-14-2003 08:22 PM

Raybrig RR45 are good ones

I'm wondering how the Polarg VIP's look in a projector beam housing...I loved the way the Piaa Super Plasma's looked, but they burn out way too fast.
