    If you want to get your car to 50 mpg or over, put a 5-speed manual from a 92-95 Civic CX or VX into your car; the highest final drive reduction of that year range. The final drive reduction is 3.25, whereas the final drive in your 95 Civic EX is 4.25; the lowest final reduction in the 92-95 year range (Specs found on page 3-15 of the 92-95 Honda Civic service manual). Just another suggestion that I thought might help in your quest to get to 50 mpg. Take care, Joel
    I have a 92 Civic CX, and I average 44mpg on 93 octane from Sunoco.
