tail lights
tail lights
I have an '03 civic LX sedan Does anyone know how to take out the tail lights? I got new tail lights and I have been wanting to put them in, but I cant get the old ones out. I took the 3 screws in the trunk area out and the one screw underneath the car out but still nothing. Someone told me that there is a way to take them out with out removing the bumper, but nothing has worked so far.

Take the rear bumper off... it'll make everything a lot more easier.
BTW... I think the stock '03 sedan tails are way nicer then any other aftermarket tails.

i dont think i want to sell my stock lights just in case something happens to the altezzas. nobody answered my question tho, how do i take them off without removing the bumper?...even tho i know that R1Style said that its easier to take the bumper off.
there is 2 more screws connected to like a bracket that is behind the bumper..i knoe some ppl who said they got the lights off w/o taking the bumper off but its hard..and taking the bumper off isnt all that hard to do..

take the bumper off. There are some tabs going down into the metal bracket that you took that screw out of under the car. (did you get all that?) So you have to pull up and out at the same time without breaking them. Fun. I just took the bumper about halfway off and bent the bracket down so that I could pull them straight out. Then there are the big white spike lookin things inside the trunk that are also holding them in, pry them, poke them, beat them, do something to them and the taillight should fall out. Worked for me. And I didn't destroy my car in the process.
