tires : 195 or 205?

My crappy OEM tires need to be changed.

My question is, what would you guys go for?

195-60r15 or 205-60r15

the 195 one is the size that comes with the Sir.

thanks for your help.

I have an 2001 Si,

I did look at the tire calc. and these are the tires sizes that would fit. I just wanted to get the opinions of others as to which one they would choose.

same here...205 for summer's!

if all season, I'd go with 195's: you want a thinner tread in the winter time, so the 205 might be a fraction more unstable.

You should be fine with 205/60-R15. The extra thread will come in hand on corners and overall traction.

For winter, I've got winter tires with the standard 185's.

Anybody has got the 205 's on with 15s? you like the look?

195 for weight reason

I wanted 205 originally but decided to go with 195 because according to the tire manufacturer spec sheet, 195 is 2lb lighter per tire. I didn't actually put the tires on a scale to see if they exaggated the weight differences, but to me 2lb of unsprung weight per corner is a lot especially for an underpowered car like the Civic.

Popkorn should not be trusted
if you go 205, you need 205-55-15

and 205's are the widest you can go on the stock rims.

You know what guys, still have my stock tires on. The front ones are getting flush with the security things.

now i'm looking at the 205/55 15 as I was told that the 60 profiles where gonna look like balloons.

did you guys ever notice that the tire calcs doesn't give exact numbers. if you look at the revs per miles, our stock tires are supposed to do 850 rotations but the app tells us 823 or something. The measurement are never the same from tire to tire.
