Friend Rear-ended me !!!!
Yeah, me and my friend were going to lunch today and she rear-ended me. I was in the turn-lane waiting to pull in and I looked in the rear-view mirror and she was flying towards me and since the roads were wet, i think she hydroplaned into me. Damage doesnt look too bad, I think I just need a new rear-bumper. She drives a Nissan Pathfinder with a huge grill guard so that didnt help.
We filed a police report and everything but we decided she would just pay for it out of her pocket and not get insurance involved.
Shes a good friend of mine so I know it will all work out. I was a little shaken up after the wreck. My Pepsi that was in my drink holder flew out and I found it on the floor of my car when I got out (glad there wasnt to much in it!). So today has pretty much sucked but both of us are okay and nobody was hurt.

PS- The OEM Aero kit for isnt a full bumper replacement is it????

The AERO kit was just an idea if it was a full replacement. My friend is paying to have my car totally fixed. I am getting estimates on Monday. As far I know/think, I just need a new rear bumper..

Because at the time we did not know what we were going to do. We decided later on that she would just pay out of the pocket. Theres no harm in filing a police report just in case...
I was just curious, because one time I was involved in a fender bender with some cranky old man and he filed a police report to use as leverage against me in case I decided to just run away and not pay. That dude was a major *****, and even though I offered to pay everything out of my own pocket, he went ahead and reported it to my insurance company anyways.
I was under the impression that with a police report, someone had to be listed as 'at fault'. Is this the case here?

no a police report is filed so you can get your insurance company involved. The police are in no way involed when you file a report. Unless they are there at the accident site you never really deal with them. Basically you go the the station and ask for a report and thats it.

i wouldnt worry bout it if its just some bumper damage. If shes trustworthy and is willing to pay for it. Just be SURE its only bumper damage not frame damage those grills can do some massive damage.

Shes a close friend and lives just down the street from me. I have her insurance information and the police report if not (but it wont be an issue).

i was rear ended last month, and at first i thought it wasn't much damage, looked to be scratched and slightly warped bumper. then i took it to a couple body shops, all estimates were over $1000 because of some stuff behind the bumper that was broken and/or bent. get it checked out, it might be more than you think.
at least you got hit by someone you know, you can work it out together, i got rear ended by some bitch that had no insurance and no working phone, i'm ending up paying for this myself.

sue her, but that will cost me more, not worth the trouble. my insurance company will try to get the money from her with the info that i gave, but i doubt that will do any good. i'm just gonna get it fixed myself, but yea, i'm pissed, it sucks that someone could be so shady and dishonest.

Well, I got my estimates today, It will probably cost a little over $800. The most expensive quote was $912 but the best body shop that does all the custom work for the imports in Atlanta (Yellow River Collision) was only $816. So, ill let yall know when its done. I should be dropped it off tomorrow or Wendesday.
