Whats everyones deal with altezzas, euros..ect Let me start off by saying im about to buy some TYC chome/carbon taillights.
I keep seeing all these post with people who constantly rag on altezza rear lights.
I personally think they are awesome, definitly look better than the stock red ones.
Why is it "cool" to have TYC projectors, Halo Headlights but "Altezzas are gay"

Rep Power: 0 let me first start off by saying that you should do whatever you think looks good. It doesnt matter if all your friends say "ohh you should get this", if it doesnt look good to you then dont get it.
One thing that I have noticed on this site is that the majority of the people get the altezzas, put them on their car for a little while, then decide they dont look good and try to sell them. Altezzas are a relatively cheap way to change the exterior appearance on your car. IMO, I love the OEM tailights, they dont fog, leak or anything. It seems to me, especially living in Southern California, that altezzas are everywhere. Anywhere from a ford taurus, to big trucks and vans, to broncos. Personally I dont want my car looking like the average family van with altezzas.
In summary, get what you want. BUT, make sure that you really like them a lot or else you will regret your purchase later down the line

I'm not saying I hate them, they work on some cars, and they don't on others, it's just that simple. For example, Altezza's on a truck is just plain wrong IMO, whereas on a car like a Civic it's *ok*
However, having said that, I'm not the biggest fan of them anymore, mainly because everyone puts them on, and most people that do put them on, are posers and think their cars are the ****.
I've gotten to the point that I think it's more unique to keep the OEM lights on, plus you don't have to spend any money

I hate getting behind someone with them, cause you can't tell when they're on the brakes until you almost hit their stupid ***. For this same reason, I'll never put any on my car. I don't want someone hitting me in the rearend. And you can imagine who the cop will say is at fault when he/she shows up to write up the report. "You don't have the original lights on there, SON. I'll have to give you a ticket."

Rep Power: 0 personally i think most look ugly and stick out to much, but i do think carbon fiber/black altezza's look good on some cars, like preludes and integras...the only type i would even consider getting for our car is the APC Carbon Fiber, blends in nice with a black car.
dont get them. especially the TYC carbon/chrome..those are gross. i had APCs for about 6 month and you know where theyre at now? in my trunk because im trying to sell them. $70 too. i see tons of APC lights around here and eventually theyll leak and start to fog up and look like complete ****. sace your money for something better.

Rep Power: 0 I think the ALL Red OEM lights look really good and i would only consider getting mine tinted a little bit to match my cars black paint but i think they look way better then the so called altezza's which copyed The Skyline lights in Japan, only they made the surround clear instead of being painted.

I have chrome TYC Altezzas on my car. And though this site hates them, I like them. One of my stock taillights was backed into by something and had a huge crack so i had to replace it anyways. I HATE the APCs because i think they are fugly but i really like the looks on the TYCs. So whatever, I like em so who cares.
i really dont even like when people tint them either. i like what fraga did with his but thats different. and i like the UKDM lights but it seems theyre too much like stock for that ridiculous price. i mean sure if youve got money to throw around then you go ahead and buy them you freakin cash chucking richers.

Rep Power: 0 Here's my thoughts: some cars can pull the look off, others can't. For example, my brother's Silver 02 coupe looks decent with the doughnut style chrome altezzas, while those lights would like like crap on my 01 Black coupe. However, the carbon fiber style of those same lights would like nice on my coupe, and crap on his coupe.

Rep Power: 320 I dont like them because I have yet to see a set of those that dont look like they were bought at a dollar store, theyre so freaking cheap. The crome plated plastic has to be the most terribly concieved idea ever, the simulated rivets for added ruggedness are a nice touch too. And the carbon fiber ones...cmon, even 10 feet away you can tell they are fake. The OEM taillights on some cars are fugly true, but on cars that actually look good, alteezas completely kill it for me. Plus everybodys cars around here look like they were pulled out of a junk yard & ALL of them have altezzas, so that dosent do much for their image.
Just my opinion though, & everyones entitled to one so...

Rep Power: 389 It just a matter of personal taste. Go with what you know, do what you feel. If you go about "modding" your car according to complaints/suggestions and not your own taste, you're pretty much wasting your time and money.

Mostly cause its popular and thats why everyone says its rice parts. Another reason is some ppl say if it doesnt improve performance or have any reason to put it on there (as in Headlights -HID convos to see better and crisp than the stock ones for daily driving). Mostly that altezzas are only for looks and not for any performance to help the car out as in racing wise. Plus i like the original ones and id rather use my money to go fast on the track for HP!!

Rep Power: 0 Personally i like the OEM lighting. the tail lights are cool as is and the only mod i did was to the headlights. i made them clear corners by taking out the stupid amber deflcetor. IMO it looks dope as hell. the best part is that it cost me nothing.

if it dosn't make it go faster or handle better then its not going on my car
other then that, my opinoin is that altezas look good only on certin color cars. like light colored cars (silver, white ect..) they do not look good on dark colored cars. but thats just my opinion. and Opinions are like *******s, every ones got one and they all stink.

You LOVE something when it first comes out but when "everybody's doin it" your tune changes. if you think it shouldn't be done just because it doesn't do anything to make your car go faster, why then do you get flashy body kits, tinted windows and decals and such? Bitter, bitter, bitter.

Yeah, I would love for someone to explain to me about how Altezza Tails are Rice but when you put in Projectors in the front, thats not rice, its cool! Whats the difference? I think the only difference is projectors are somewhat new and are the new altezza or 2003. Its the same damn thing.

easy, I don't. I autocross, so body kits, projector lights ect... are all wasted $$ and ushually added weight. Weight is bad. very bad. and the $$ is better spent on tires and suspension componants. mmmm..... racing slicks..........
what some one else puts on their car is their choice, but you won't see any of that stuff on my car.
