Exclamation Once in awhile I'm gonna tear 'em a new one!

I did this once before but got lazy and never kept up with it. What I intend to do here is have some good hearted fun at the expense of things (people mostly) who get on my nerves in this, our world of import cars..Honda or otherwise.

My first installment was poking fun at these people who by Boxters and 911's without even bothering to learn how to drive them....you know these people, you see them lurching around in the coffee shop parking lot every morning trying to discover 2nd gear!

This time I'm pointing the finger straight at Chrysler or Dodge or Plymouth or whatever they call themselves these days....Either way they all mean the same thing...'Caravan'!
Now some of you that may have either driven or know someone driving one of the soon to mentioned cars may be at odds with my argument but remember that it's just an opinion and we're all entitled to them.

So without further adue I take aim at the SX 2.0 or the NEON as it's doomed to always be known. First of all, I agree with Car and Driver in that the restyling has given the car a whole new dimension, it really does look alot better. Having said this I harkon back to the times just before building imports was popular, a time when you couldn't buy a Chrysler product without a turbo in it. Remember those days??? I do. I remember a turbo system that after 40,000ks broke down and esentially became a rev limiter. The oil sender lines would snap and burst and the mechanical bits would spilit away so fast you'de be rolling back down the hill backwards before you knew what happened. In fact if memory serves, the only good turbo came in the Talon TSi and for those who don't already know, that car had a Mitsubishi powerplant! Now they're at it again, 'Damn, let's put a turbo in the NEO...errr...SX 2.0! and 'Oh, lets stick one in the PT Cruis....errr....NEON!'
Yes, I'm sure that the NEON..damn sorry...the SX 2.0 is a fast car in a nice straight line but look at the real picture here. It shifts like a loosely assorted pile of parts in a bucket and comes loose at high RPM's. Nothing like reving up to find the car can't handle it at all despite what the 50 year old that sold it to you said.
Anyway, you can all draw your own conclusions but my bottom line is this...I would rather have to build the nutts outta my D17 or swap it even instead of having to put up with that nighmare of a car builder...DODGE!

"Nice try DODGE, but as we say at Timmies at Roll up the Rim time....Please Try again!"

Actually, don't....

Just to further the comment...

My friend at work went to the dodge dealership to take a look at the new SRT-4 (the turbo'd neon). We aren't getting it here for a while, but the guy said "Well, you can get the SX2.0 for now if you like".

I was like "SX 2.0? wtf is that?" and he honestly told me that the neon was such a big peice of trash, that dodge renamed it. They admitted to themselves that the neon was garbage, and that they had to offer it a new name in order to make sales, because everyone knows that the neon sucks.

when the company that makes the car KNOWS that it sucks...it should tell you something.

also, when dodge had to keep on rebuilding the neon's engine up to 2.5 L, and they're still only making 230 horsepower, that's gotta tell you something.

The WRX STi is 2.5L in north america, and it gets 300HP easily.

yikes.

I hate neons, and I enjoy bashing them at any chance I get.

Thanks for allowing me to vent, Pharoh!
