The never ending Squeek Saga Continues
Well I worked on the car this weekend. It seems I had two different squeeks. One I fixed, the other one I did not.
My passenger side squeek is gone. It was always a minor squeek coming from that side and it was a simple fix...
When I took apart the rear driver's side, it now sounds like its the SPC Camber's brushings that are squeeking up a storm. I lubricated them up with some spray lubricant and it helped...a little...for awhile, the car only squeeked when I was stopping (which is still very annoying). Within 30 minutes, however, the car was squeeking nonstop once again. So now I believe its the camber...but how to fix it? I have no idea...maybe I have a defective one or something....
Details of the squeek....
When I jacked the car up, there was no noise on the way up....when I let the car down, there wasn't any squeeking at first....the tire hit the ground...no squeeking...but I would say as soon as the majority of the weight was put on the tire, the squeeking was INTENSE and LOUD...a very rubbery sound....the rest of the way down when removing the jack was sooooo loud.
My car is going into a shop for some bodywork so I'll probably have them take a look at the squeeking and see what they say...but I'm afraid they are going to say "you just need to lube up the brushing"....I already did that
. Any other ideas?

did you do the install on the rear kit?
If so you are not supposed to tighted down the inside big bolt (the one with the bushing) untill the suspension is loaded...(car on the ground)
not doing this will flex the bushing one way once your car is on the ground
Try loosening the inside bolt, let your car down and then tighted it up.
It sounds like you bushing is moving. Its not supposed to. Doing what I described should fix it ..if not then the damage is already done.
If you need to replace them just line the new one up side by side next to the old and adjust until they are equal. no alignment needed.

I just the shop that did the alignment do the install, i didn't think it was worth jacking the car up to tighten a few screws. Thanks for the advice, i'll give it a shot....but how am i supposed to tighten the inside screw with the car on the ground?

I just finished switching out the old bushings with new ones today, dropped the car, tightened the bolts, and the car sounds wonderful!
btw, once you lower the car, you just have to crawl underneath to reach those bolts. or you can lower your car with your wheels on jackstands-- that gives you more room, but it's more effective if your car is level.

it doesnt look torn like that...but Im pretty sure the guy didn't do it right...I dont think he was their normal "alignment specialist". On another note, I left SPC an email on Friday. I received a call from them today and the gentleman left me his name and extension. Extremely impressive! I will call him tommorrow and get his take on this as well. Thanks guys.
Hmmmm my car is like 2" off the ground...Ill have to do the jackstands or try to look through the wheel and stick my arm in there lol.

bad news guys. the squeak is slowly starting to return. so it must not be from that lower bushing (though that may have been part of it). I also have an SPC kit in the rear.. please post to let me know what's going on! I literally took everything apart when i fixed that bushing.. every other part on the car looks fine

I've had squeaks in the rear suspension before. First it was just the passenger side GC coilover.
Now it's just the entire rear, or both sides.
Then I noticed BOTH stock struts were leaking.
So yup... it's definitely my struts.

Well I redid it today and it was squeeking a little (but much improved) at first...and now its gone completely away....lets hope it stays this way. Mex, if you would like, I can give you the number to a gentleman at SPC who specializes in their support...let me know.

Quick question about the front suspension....I have the "popping issue" because I didn't align the arrows properly...It seems like a pretty easy fix. Anyways, if I work on the fronts but return the car to the same height (and I dont adjust the cambers), can I save my wheel alignment? Or will I mess that up no matter what?

Im not going to be chaning the height though...I just need to simply remove the suspension, make a minor adjustment on the top, and put the suspension back on.

Alignment problem
Jack the car up a little so the wheels clear and put a slip plate unde the wheel, you can take a plastic gallon milk jug and cut off the flat sides put two piece together and lower the wheels. take a nut on a piece of string hold it against the top of the tire an dmessure how far the sting is from the bottom of the tire. After you do the work check to make sure you have the same readings after you are done, if not you need a trip to the alignment shop.

I just got off the phone with SPC. It looks like they will be sending me a new rear camber arm. If you are experiencing a similiar problem, feel free to PM me and I'll give you the gentleman's name and number at SPC who deals with their problems.
