finally got most of my system installed...have a question
I got most of my system done...now I just need to tune it... I still want to upgrade some things and add some more high end stuff... but for now I have...
Alpine CDA-9815: Deck
Alpine Mrdm300: amp (Hoping to upgrade to mrdm500 for type r sub)
Alpine 12" Type S: Sub (Hoping to upgrade to Type R sub.)
Alpine 6-1/2" Type-R's: Speakers front component set
Alpine 6x9 Type R's: Rear Speaker
Alpine MRV-F340: Speaker Amp (hoping to upgrade for more power out of my Type R's)
im Want to add either a flip out screen or a flush mounted screen later but I havent decided on what im doing...I am sure it will come to me some day... '
The alpine deck allows has a crossover controll, a parametric eq and a time correction feature... I was wondering if anyone knew what I should set this stuff out or just leave it all alone... any help would be great thanks...

just bought the same deck from ebay last night!
how long have you had it? reason i ask is because i'm curious about the mp3 feature, does it lag when it loads?
as far as the settings i dont know, according to the literature on the headunit you are able to download, burn, and then load all the settings for your specific car from the alpine website but currently that feature isnt werking for the 9815 just yet... but as soon as it is up and running then we wont have to worry about setting it up at all... please let me know what ya think of it, i'm still waiting to have it shipped...

actually it is up and running now and you still have to do all the settings on the computer... thats why I was asking cause I was going to do it over the internet... well my deck is kinda being crappy... it has all sorts of problems... but when I first had it the only lag for mp3's was the startup when you up a cd in other than that its perfect... but now my deck looses power to the screen... or the screen just goes crazy and flashes and stuff like that... so im going to send it in and get another one when I have a chance...

You just need someone to tune your system.
You keep saying how you wanna upgrade this and that but you haven't even fully tweaked your current setup to see what it can do.
You said you can turn up the components all the way with no distortion. Sounds like you need to set the gains if you ask me. With those components on an amp it should drive you right out of the car it will go so loud.
Personally I would use that amp bridged on the front components and run the rears off deck power.

No offense but .... damn man ... slow down a little.
You seem to want this and that just because "it is better". Not because you actually need it.
If its loud enough now, then a bigger amp won't really do anything for you.
Personally I would thing 90% of the population would be thrilled w/ that setup.
First you need to have a shop tweak everything for you .... like the gains, crossovers, etc... Setting all that up can get really involved. I usually set the gains twice .... first to match the speaker and then to match the system.
See what your current system can REALLY do when set up perfectly. Then decide what you do and don't like about the system. Once you know what you don't like we can make suggestions that will help correct anything you aren't happy with.
