B+G problem: rear strut bushing torn

Yes folks, that's correct, there is another development in my neverending B+G problems.

recently i started getting a different kind of squeak on both my rear struts. so today i take off my rear wheel and lo and behold..

the bushing on that lower mounting point is torn! DonJuan warned us early on about this problem but mine seemed to look fine at the time. I'm calling B+G to see what their take is on it.

okay, I just got off the phone. the sales rep said they will tear like that if you tighten that bolt all the way before you lower the car. he's sending me a replacement grommet for both sides; they can be pushed in. very important, the car should be lowered all the way before you tighten that bolt in completely. he told me to just get it to start coming through the other side, drop the car, then tighten it in all the way. Hopefully i'll have this new part in by next week.

If you did the install yourself, you may want to say you had a shop do it, because the B+G warranty is only effective if they're profesionally installed.
