heres a link off the neuspeed site to install the neuspeed strut bar, it should be the same diy for whatever brand strut bar u have... u should tighten the nuts back to 33 ft/lbs, u should get a torque wrench if u dont have one already...

sKwiD is on a distinguished road
For the upper strut bar is easy. Just unscrew the 2-3 bolts (depending on your bar) connected to the chassis and suspension. Put the bar on there, then screw all of the bolts back. I don't know if this is any help, but I did it a couple of days ago with the Type-R (ebay style) strut bar. I bought it for $20 from Chinatown, LA. It works great too!

Does the "type-R" front strut bar require any modification under the hood to fit on the EX model? And is the rear strut bar a direct bolt on too without modification?

Becuz I bought a $14 strut bar for my 01 EX, which I had to drill a hole that's lower to hold the bracket for the steering fluid.

oh yeah, I hand torqued the strut bar on my 01 EX and 02 WRX, never had a problem and I was running with 18s on both cars too. Don't really need to spend more money to get a torque wrench
