Which tires to get!!!

well i am getting new rims and tires next week and i know what rims i want, velox pg rev 7 17x7.5, well the problem im having is which tires to get. i want to get the parada spec 2 but the only tire they have is 215/40/17 and i would like to get 215/45. should i get those or should i get some others that are 215/45/17 like the Potenza S-03 Pole Position http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+S-03+Pole+Position&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=145YR7 S03PP&fromCompare1=yes or something else. does any body have any suggestions. i want to lower my car about 1.5 inches later on but i don't wanna be too low, just to look nice. right now i scrape my exhaust pipe and muffler and im not even lowered!!!

i just want some high performance tires. for dry weather, since i live in LA where it never rains. and no i don't want kumho's, they suck(personal experience).

Nitto 450's or 555's. Depends on what you wanna spend but from what I see form above you have the money for 555's so try those. Trust me I drove a car with them and they are well worth the money.

and buy them from America's Tire Company. Remember, we promise to beat anyone's prices. If you find the same tire for less, we will beat their total price by $10

well i just want to get the best tires, looking for 215/45/17... i accually know somebody(hook up) that works at a direct supplier for major companies, so if a tire cost 150, it will cost me like 60-70... so i don't think you can beat the price... hehe

im looking for specific tires...

I've got no complaints thus far with my Yok AVS ES100s (215/45/17), but I can only compare them to the stock shitstones... so anything sticks like glue... and they're awesome in the rain. You really don't notice that there's water on the road at all.

I have had no problems with my Kumho Ecsta 712s, they run, they stick, and they handle wet great.

I've open tracked them several times and got excellent grip from them.

The Potenza S-03 Pole Position is the best performance tire and you pay for it. The Parada Spec 2 is a lot cheaper and still a great tire.
I'm likely going to get the Yokohama AVS ES100.
I've gone thru a lot of performance tires, various brands and I absolutely luv Yokohama's.

Well, ****... I guess I didn't read closely enough up top... anyways, the Parada-2's do come in 205/45/17 if you want the 45 sidewall... it'll be a little bigger than 215/40 if that's what you're looking for.

205/45 to a 215/40...that's the same overall...just that the 215 has more contact to the road than the 205 and with the % ratio of the sidewall on the 215...it would look the same

215/40 is smaller than a 205/45. Put them both in the tire calc. 215/40 is still 2% Faster.
215/40 have 86mm sidewalls
205/45 have 92.25mm sidewalls.

i have seen some cars with 205/45 on some 7.5 inch wide rims and it doesn't look pretty.

i have a few tires down. the

parada spec 2 in 215/40($100)

perrelli p-zero 215/45(comes stock on high performance cars)(160)

Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position 215/45(160)

Michelin Pilot Sport - Size 215/45(178) (These come stock on my dads tl type s in 215/50/17)

I would go with 215/45/17 Yokohama, Pirelli, or michellin.
But for tight budget, I'd go with Kumho Ecsta 712 supra. Theyr are cheap but good quality.

If you have the money go with Toyo Proxes TS-1's or Yokohama Parada's. They best two tires made right now.
