18s look good, but in turn, are made to kill performance.

17s will slow your car down too, but not as much. They're good for autocrossing events.

Tire size is a personal decision. Do not get 215-45-17 if your car is lowered unless you plan on cutting the rear fenders. Otherwise, that size is my first choice because it's not as loud as a 40 series tire and it'll grip better than a skinny 205 tire.

That's the same issue I have. It seems like 18's just look the best. 17's seem to be a better option from what I hear?
Does anyone have pictures of our civ's with oem or some'n up to 16" and still look'n good. it's not as if looks is the only thing that's important, but since our rides have such great looks... wheels gotta do 'em justice!!!ntome:

You can make your car look good with any sized rim look good (15 and up of course although I think 19s are wayyyy too much.) It just depends on your taste. If you're willing to go larger, are you willing to sacrifice speed for looks? Even with a lightweight 17 or 18, you'll still go slower but they do help out a little. Also, don't overlook the fact that tire size has a lot to do with it how large the wheel will look on the car, especially with a smaller wheel (you have more sizing options the smaller you go).

18s are more for show

17s are for show/performace (best bet) I recommend some 215/45/17 tires - Ive got 205/40/17 now and i wish I chose what i recommended more cusion and less wheel gap after lowering springs.

16s lil show/more performance

I dunno but these civics look like they were made for 18s but if you want to save money and get 17s that's cool too.

I would get 18" but if I was concerned about potholes and road conditions you may want to stick with 17's.

I'd get 17's because 18's take away from the performance of the car (not that we have kick a$$ engines). The tire size I'd get is 215/40/17. Wide for good handling and thin for good performance.
