i agree, if u like xplod then go for it...
i bought a 10" xplod sub a few years ago and it's a lot of boom for the buck..
paid $48cdn for it brand new and it pounded hard in my custom ported box...you gotta get the sub into the right box for it to sound good...
i think those peeps who had bad experiences w/ xplod are prolly newbies who didn't put the sub into the right size box....all the novice and advanced car audio peeps didn't buy xplod cause they wanted something that hits a lot louder
i now have a type r and i still think the xplod is great for the price i paid

The Xplods are pretty.. that's why people like them. But speakers are not made to look at.. they're made to reproduce sound. General rule of thumb in car audio... If a speaker needs to say... be bright red.. or have big chrome flames all over it to sell it should tell you something about that speaker.
..man i can't wait for the flaming i'll recieve for that shot i took at audiobahn..

for sony highs I have sony 6 by 9 four way and they sound great for me and driving. I am not trying to have the car next to me listen to my stuff but for me myself to hear the music and enjoy it. Any kind you get it will be better than stock.
well i got 2 sony xplod 12s running off a old XM-752EQX 75W x 2 or 200 x 1 xplode amp, they sound great, that new linkin park is awesome on it but after my ps2 died for no reason i will never ever buy sony again but i will upgrade the amp just saw a 750 watter xplode in the bootleg bin for 100 bucks at Best Buy but after that never again
my buddy has i think the 6and a halfs in this dakota

I have Pioneer 6.5 3 ways in my doors and Kenwoode 3 way 6X9's in my rear deck. They sound great, and I have had no problems with them. As far as Subs go I would recommend only Rockford Fosgate. I have had Kicker and MYX in my last cars and I have to say there is no substitute to the book that RF subs puts out.
As far As Sony goes, I would not recommend any of their Automotive products. Sure they look great, but their quality doesnt stand up compared to the other brands out there.....The reason the are so bright in color is because Looks sell.....

About the Sony, I can only speak from my experience and my Sony HU started skipping after several months of use. I don't know about their speakers, but because of that HU, I wouldn't buy another Sony car audio product.
