Honda Warranty Question???

This morning i went out to my car and when i started it and i tried to shift it in to drive from park. There was about a 5 second hesitation between gears and and then it it kind of jumped into gear and began to roll foward. I figure I know i will have to get a new transmission soon and i only have 19.000 miles on my car, so it is still under warranty. I have made some changes to my car that could jeopradize my warranty, but i have not done anything at all to my trans so could any of the other things i have done put me at risk of my warranty be voided. The things i have done is (intake, painted Valve cover, Etc...) but nothing to my transmission causing it to act up. So basiclly what i'm asking is will honda cover a new transmission?

what is the etc.? If you are worried, take the intake off and go. I don't see why they wouldn't cover it.

If you have cold air intake it might have sucked up some water and gotten into the engine and thats will really mess your car up. Definatly take off the intake and put back on the stock intake and make it look like you never had the intake before you take it into the dealership. If they take apart your engine and see that theres lots of water or condensation they are going to start asking you questions becuase the only way for it to get in there is from the intake.

I'd just put the stock intake back on and take it into honda and explain the problem to them and have them look at it becuase it shoudlnt be acting like that already considering the number of miles you said that are on there. As long as you havnt done anything mechanical to the engine you should be fine

If your dealer isn't really a modification friendly dealer then take the Intake off anyways and put the original one back on. JUST TO BE SAFE. But it sounds like your tranny is sticking in gear and holding onto the rpm's, you could have a bad speed sensor, or it could be something majorly wrong in the internal workings of the tranny.

I have aftermarket parts on my car and it has never been a problem for the dealership to fix stuff under warranty.

I've broke the front motor mount....it was fixed by dealer free under warranty.

I have also burned up my synchros between 2nd and 3rd....dealer fixed underwrranty by giving ame a new transmition and new clutch since everything was apart.

once again I paid nothing!!

it all depends on the service department in your local dealer... my dealer gave me a new windshield under warranty i hit the guy off with a big face benji. but thats beside the point.. they never say anything about the 101 mods i have done to my car

might sound stupid but ive had 1 new tranny already ut now it feels like its jumping gears againi saw somehting above about speed sensor i was wodneirng if changed rims about every 2-3 months would that have an effect on my car like the diff wheel diameters messing up stuff and chaging the weight etc. ex. i use to have 18' that were really heavy and now have 16's that are feather light....

well, congress actually passed a law stating that you can have an aftermarket intake and/or cat-bcak exhaust. slamming your car only voids suspension warranty too... it should all be in either the manual or your warranty book.

I believe that Honda has extended the warrenty out auto trans due to a defect so I would check it out. If you register at hondacars.com it will tell you if your car is effected.
