Gold Line Announcement

There still seems to be some confusion concerning the drop on Gold Line lowering springs. As of the last quarter of 20002, the GPS-0106 spring kit has been re-designed to achieve even fender well gaps. This holds true for the Coupe & the Sedan. Gold Line is the "only" spring company to offer a specific kit for the Coupe & Sedan. If the Sedan kit is used on the Coupe, expect the rear of the vehicle to sit fairly high. However, we do recommend the use of the Sedan kit on the Coupe "if" the Coupe has stereo equipment in the trunk.

We've had a few inquiries lately regarding this issue and I felt it needed to be addressed. As always, if anyone has any questions, please contact us anytime @ 877-671-9752. We are more than happy to discuss and explain the differences between the 2 kits.

Gold Line would also like to thank everyone who has purchased Gold Line spring kits for your their vehicle. We appreciate the support.

Regards,
Jeff Schaid

I noticed with goldlines on my sedan the rear sags a bit lower than the front. Whats up with that?
Thinking about making a spacer to go on the bottom of my springs to adjust the rear up a bit.

You may have the old version sedan springs. If you call up goldline they will replace you a new pair rear springs.

actually goldline only made new springs for coupes.. the sedans are still the same..

and nope eibach, h&r, or progress dont make coupe, they are all only meant for sedans(they just dont tell you). goldline and neuspeed are probably the only companies that make seperate coupe/sedan springs

I had the eibachs on my sedan but the wheel gap on the back was way smaller than the front, so I figured Eibachs were made for the coupe.

Hm, it's a bit late for me to get the sedan springs now, since I have a box and amp in my trunk. I ordered the coupe springs already. Oh well.

Well, I got them through the GB w/ Rob. I'm pretty sure the coupe springs will be fine. I only have a sealed box with two 12" subs and the amp is mounted on the back of that. I don't think it's that heavy...

what 12s? goldline springs are probably one of the softest ones out there..
i had a single 12" power hx2 and it lowered my rear like .2" while it raised the front .2". my system probably weighed only about 55lbs.
this was with my neuspeeds.. one of the more stiffer springs..

could be one of few things..
1) the top nut(that holds the whole strut together) isnt bolted down all the way
2) the top perch isn't aligned right
3) you didnt use spring isolators..

Re: Post by Xopher

If you have any stereo equipment in the rear of the vehicle I would recommend going w/the Sedan application. If you "have not" installed the springs we can exchange them for you if your interested. You would have to send back the Coupe kit and we would then send out the Sedan kit. We will cover the freight back to you as well.

So, explain to me why I need the sedan springs over the coupe springs just because I have a box in my trunk?

Edit: By the way, I received the springs on Tuesday and all I've done is open the box to look at them. I taped the box back up and placed it in my garage until later. So, they haven't been used at all, and are okay to ship back? But I would have to pay for them to be shipped to you, and you would pay for them to be shipped to me?

you dont NEED to get sedan springs.. its just when you have weight in the trunk, it lowers the rear and raises the front a little.

You dont "need" the sedan springs. I'm just making suggestion to you in regards to the additional weight you have (or will have) in the trunk. You need to keep in mind, although you may think that stereo equp. may not weigh much, it's usually positioned behind the rear wheels. This increases the effect of weight to spring rate ratio.

In regards to freight, yes, you would be responsible for freight charges back to Gold Line. Gold Line however, would cover the freight back to you. This is due to the fact that there's nothing wrong with the spring kit you have. This is a weight in the trucnk issue, not a defective spring issue.

If you (or anyone else) want to exchange your coupe springs for sedan springs, please call our office for a return authorization number. This number is to be written on the box. As mentioned in previous postings, Gold Line "does not" recommend the use of sedan springs with a coupe(unless coupe has stereo quip. or other weight in the trunk). Regardsless of what someone may tell you on this forum, you will not be happy with the stance of the vehicle.

Regards,
Jeff

hey anybody, i got a question. i just recieved my coupe springs, and on the goldline website, it says we dont have to trim the bumpstop, but in the little letter that came in the box, it says we must trim the bumpstops??? anyone who has installed the (coupe) springs themselves, was it really necessary to trim the bumpstops? or can i just install them witout cutting the bumpstops?

The front bumpstop is optional but, we do recommend trimming the rear b/s.
