newb questions

im not really in the market for a complete system but i want to listen to cd's
... i have the intentions of getting a system eventually, so i didnt get the stock cd player.
i am looking for a good HU that will play cd's, keep the radio, and maybe play mp3's.
my price range is 200-300 and i dont want to get a HU that will need other parts
like an amp or something. i also want a headunit that i can keep later for when i add
subs and speakers.

what do you all think of this one?
link

and what should i expect to pay for install?

DIY it. Esp. if you order it from Crutchfield. They give you all the sheets, mounting hardware. Even if you have a little bit of mechanical know-how, it shouldnt be a problem. The sheets they give you make is really really easy. Check eBay. You might be able to get that deck for way cheaper, adn the harness and mounting stuff you can pick up at Best Buy or somewhere for like 30 bucks.

ok kool... what are the parts needed?
i kind of want a rough idea to make sure the shop does it right.
im thinking that buying it online and paying for install might be cheaper than buying from a store
but ill see... speaking of stores, does anyone know of any good places to go to in southern california?
