Do I Want Pillowball Upper Mounts?
I still researching my options for suspension, recently I heard that with some coilovers/shocks (tein ss), I can use Pillowball Upper Mounts or I don't have to.
What are the pros and cons of getting them?
I hear they don't ride as well, but do they improve the handling or make the steering better or more "solid" feeling?
If you have them, please let me know what you think of them.
Thanks,
James
i believe that the pillowball mounts do make ur car handle a bit better by replacing the mount that u take from ur stock suspension, but is a little bit harder ride. The tien ss does not have this, but the flex does.. I hope sum1 who knows more about this can clarify it for me

only person who has them here is aswzero.
but ya there's always that sacrifice... do you want a stiff suspension or comfortable ride.. having pillowball mounts will give you a better handling. the rides going to be a little bit harsher but not by that much cause remember its mainly the shocks that absorbs impacts.
why do you even upgrade the suspension, if its for handling then why not get it. if your only doing it for looks, whats the point..

Well, everyone here with sleeve coils have complained about the squeaking when they turn the wheel. The pillowball mounts from Tein use a spherical bushing on which the strut pivots on. The benefits are more precise feel on turns, smoother(easier) turns(feels like stock when you turn the wheel), and camber adjustment. My car is very smooth on the softest settings. No noise, just a little fluttering on the big dips). Every tells me that my shocks are blown(they are not). My friend with the Tein RS coils on his Supra makes the same noise. Its just the shock oil forcing its way through a tiny opening(his are on the stiffest setttings.
If you are going for looks, get the Cup kit when it comes out, unless Eibach has finished the pro dampers for our. I have not heard about them for a long, long time. Time to go to class. Laters.
