Clarion DXZ835MP pics and mini review....

i just installed the new 835MP pro audio clarion unit, so i thought i would give a little review with it.

first off, here are some crap pics i took of it ( was late for work, so took them quickly with my digicam ):

Pic #1

Pic #2

i didn't have much time to fool around with it, but for the 30 minutes that i have used the unit, it has been sweet. my favorite thing about the unit is how quickly it loads mp3's, takes 1.5-2 seconds, quicker than my 7400mp. as far as sound quality goes, it sounds about the same as my previous setup ( for those who dont know, i had a pioneer deh-7400mp and clarion eqs-560 5-band equalizer ). i still need to adjust gains and play around with the sound adjusted features of the unit, so i think i can make it sound better. overall, there is more of a quality feel over the 7400mp, the buttons and the face, but its not like the 7400mp was cheap.

likes:
three 4 volt pre outs
fast mp3 playback
motorized face
728 color display
sub volume control right on the face

dislikes:
remote ( kinda big, i like the credit card style remotes more )
display not as cool as the OEL pioneer display

i need to use it more to find some more likes and dislikes, but overall, i love it, its great.

concerning the ever popular "can't see display in sunlight" problem you get with most units, this unit is more or less the same. i am reading the manual right now, and it shows how to change the contrast of the unit, so that might help. also, it depends on what color you use for the display. if i use purple, dark blue, dark green, etc. colors like that, i can't see the display, but if i change it to orange or aqua, then its easy to see.

if you have questions, let me know.
