AMP PROBLEM - HELP!

Hey all

I just purchased and installed an Audiobahn A4125HCQ amp in my car. I currently had 3 amps and a crossover and this amp was to replace that setup so I had already had the wires and speakres installed and had this setup running fine for several years. I just wanted to recover some trunk space. Anyways I installed the amp and it worked great for about 5 minutes then the red protection light came on. I checked all wiring to the amp and everything was find. I have been installed car audio for about 10 years so I know what I am doing and had the negative battery terminal disconnected during the install. My current setup is this. I ran channels 1/2 to my front components (CDT audio 6.5's) in stereo mode running the HPF. Channels 3/4 were bridged mono to a pair of Image dynamics IDQ12's running 2 ohms wired in parallel in a ported enclosure, and that was set to the LPF. I am running a clarion head unit with all high quality stinger interconnects. I use 0 gauge power and ground wire to a 2.0 farad cap, and 4 gauge to the amp, and I have a ANL type fuse under the hood. I tuned the gains like it said in the instruction manual, there was no distortion whatsoever! Anyways, when the problem happened all sound from all speakers stopped. There was no pop or smoke or any smells, just the red light came on. The amp was not hot either. The cooling fans and blue backlights are still on. Please help me with this problem, as I am clueless as to what could have happened. Thanks for your help.

slowlx2k2 is an unknown quantity at this point
Ok here would be my suggestion. if the light came on then it went into protect. take a meter and set it to resistance and check and double check your loads.if that looks good, take a voltmeter set it to a/c. meter your rca's unplugged from the amp. if your a/c voltage goes up and down with the volume, then you know you have signal to the amp. then plug your rca's into the amp, then check a/c voltage on the speaker output side of it. if they go up and down with volume then you have sound and it's maybe a speaker problem. if it doesn't then go exchange your amp. let me know how it works out.
