I have read this forum for months however this is among my first posts....
With that said...
I gutted my cat and of course the engine light came on....I knew the engine would throw a code when I did this
b/c it is OBD-2...however...is there anyway to kill the damn light??????

Just like Boilermaker said, you need an O2 simulator. I got mine from diabloautosports.com, but I think the website is down. Not sure why. Someone else got one from another site, but I can't remember what it was. The brand is ECG Electronics, and it's an O2 simulator for OBDII. Should be about $45.

a friend of mine had his deleted from the computer at pep boys for 15 bucks. his is a 6th gen civic and now if anything does go worng there is no light, but it is an idea.

I purchased mine from Lakeeffect.com for $46.50 shipped. John from Lakeeffect.com is willing to have a GB price at $42.00 shipped with a minimun of 10 buyers. let me know wsup. i'll call him and let him know. oh yeah. they have excellent service. he guided me through the install and it hooks right up to the ECU. there is no need to run wires all over the place. he will also supply you with the 7thgen civic wiring schematic as well.
