adjusting the ground control and skunk2 coilovers

i did a search already, but it's not that informative...

i'm just wondering what's the difference between the ground control and skunk2 coilover for the adjusting part... which one is better? or easier to adjust... do you have to jack up the car to adjust the height? i see that most people on here have the ground controls... i would also want to know what's the adapter that you could buy for the ground controls... do i really need it if i want to install konis, or other shocks/strut like tokicos or kyb... thanks for the replies in advance!

and also, i read that the spring rate for the skunk2s are 400lbs/in in the front and 500lbs/in in the rear... is that too stiff? what's the spring rate for the ground controls? i know it's not as stiff... should i go with the ground controls instead? thanks!

DizWikedCivic is on a distinguished road
gc use only lock sleeve ring and skunk2 is 2 lock sleeve ring, either way once the spring is uncompress it easy to adjust both coilovers, you cant go wrong with both of them, i got skunks2 because since gc only has one lock sleeve ring what happen if it get loose while driving, and skunk2 has 2 lock sleeve ring, i find them more stable then gc. and also got the skunks for a good price

GC's rear adapter is for koni only. its a collar for the shock that fits up inside the coilover sleeve and over the circlip on the shock. yes you do need them if you want to use koni shocks. When another company starts making shocks for our cars we will find out if they are needed for them also. I am a happy camper with my GC Koni setup.

call up ground control directly and ask them. (530) 677-8600 they should be able to tell you.

just remember softer isnt always better and stiffer isnt always better either... best thing would be to ride in cars with skunk2 and another in gc... even then it'll probably be hard to tell the difference in ride... in general sleeved coilovers are bouncy so if your worried about ride quality you might want to invest in some koni's or if its too expensive, just stick to springs

that's what i want to do, ride in peoples cars with both. but i live in an area where there's not a lot of modded 7th gens. they only have springs... i dont want springs cause i really want the adjustability, but without spending a fortune on true coilovers. it's too much money when you're also going to school! so i guess i'll just get one of the sleeves and save for some shocks/struts. probably get either tokico's or kyb's. thanks alot!
