3500 RPM's at 75mph....
Is it me or does anyone else think our car's rev high? I have an 01 ex 5 speed, and that's where my tach reads.
Another question,
at what rpm do most of you shift at? and in what gear??

It's not really wierd... my old car ran 75 at about 3100, my mom's jetta runs it about 33-3400... it's not that surprising to me.

My EX runs about the same rpms at that speed. The EX is going to be a little different from the LX/DX since its final ratio is higher. Also auto's will run at a lower rpm then manuals due to gearing differences. Whats weird though is a manual typically gets better gas mileage over an automatic, but the manual runs at a higher rpm.. someone explain that one to me. Could it be that the auto is slipping that much? Weird..

Automatics absorb more power than a manual... so the engine must work harder to compensate. The automatic gearing and the overdrive results in the lower rpm.

Same here...
Also VTEC is engaged in 5th gear at 63mph and stays on.

Good thing we are all out there doing 80mph or better just to see what the tach says cause i know everyone didnt go to the highways just to test this out
Sorry I just thought it was funny.
