205/50R16?
205/50R16?
I used the tire calculator and read over numerous forums on this site. I don't care about racing my car (03 Civic EX), I just want to get rid of the stupid plastic hubcaps I have now and get some real rims. I'm lookin at some 16" ones and the closest tire size that won't alter the speedometer too much is 205/50. According to the calculator 215/50 wouldn't change the speedometer at all, but I can't find a tire this size. Is there such a thing? Would the 205/50 be sufficient? I do encounter potholes a lot and I have many speed bumps where I live.
Welcome.
If you don't care about racing, then 205/45/17's are good. If u look at the tire calc it says .00% too slow... a lot better than 205/50/16. However, the 16" will basically have the same ride quality as stock, and for performance is the most optimal. But any size less than 1% difference in spedometer rating's fine. 205/50/16's a good size to have.
$77 for those tires is average. But you won't find tires much cheaper anyway, so its a decent price.
