Yeah, I disconnected it cuz their gonna repair the leak on my trunk. The question is that I just have my wires hanging, disconnected from the amp....so I put masking tape over the wires. Would I damage anything when I start the car? Cuz the wire still has power going through it but theres no amp.

i dont think you would, but i might be wrong, just to be safe remove the fuse from the fuse holder

the turn on lead could short unless you tape over the end. use eletrical or duct tape, cuz masking tape is not very sticky and could come undone. and disconnect the other wire from the battery, why take a chance

just pull your fuse on the power wire by the battery

Yeah, what Double Duece said: electrical tape. If you just tape it up with e-tape that would be perfect!
